BEFORE YOU BEGIN
What happens
when we meet?
The questions people actually carry,
answered plainly.
What if I cry?
Then you cry. Nothing here requires composure.
What if nothing happens?
Then nothing happens. That’s not failure. Some sessions are quiet in ways that don’t
announce themselves yet.
What if I feel ashamed?
Shame is welcome in this room, same as anything else. It won’t be met with judgement.
What if I’m scared?
You’re allowed to be. You’re not required to face anything faster than you’re ready for.
What if I don’t know how to meditate?
You don’t need to. That’s not the starting point. You are.
How will you help me?
I will be staying present while you find your own understanding, not explaining
you to yourself.
What am I supposed to do in session?
You will look for your own path with my presence. What matters is what you come to know for yourself, not what you’re told.
What if I’ve done this before and it didn’t work?
Then we start from there, not from zero. What didn’t work is often more useful than what did.
We’ll simply stay with whatever arises.
You’re not required to face anything alone.
