Meditation for Beginners

End of the sitting

You can use a timer or bell to alarm yourself about coming back and ending the sitting. The sound should not be so hard for your ears. Bring back yourself. Stay silent for a while. You will feel tremendous silence inside you.

Dancing before sitting

You can try this technique as well. Dance to your favorite steps before the sitting, to make yourself little lighter. It will shed some of the burdens from your mind and body. I myself, prefer to dance before sitting. Because it helps to release emotions from the body and helps to calm down. It enhances your mood. You feel tremendous joy after dancing. You don’t have to be a perfect dancer for doing it. So just play your favorite music and dance. This technique is really helpful for those who face problems while sitting idle and silence because of the flutter inside them.

If I have to summarize meditation I would say that being watchful is the key to meditation. Therefore keep on watching your thoughts without getting involved in them by reacting or judging or observing them. Imagine you are standing at a railway station. Many trains are coming and going. All you have to do is to watch them devoid of any question or knowledge as to where those trains are going without getting carried away with them. Be watchful and be easy on yourself.

Some of the routine changes you might like to do:

  • Watch less TV as much as possible.
  • Don’t watch aggressive stuff on the internet or TV.
  • Don’t watch emotional videos because it affects your emotional state of mind.
  • Eat healthy and light food.
  • Take a shower and wear clean clothes before sitting. Preferably wear the same clothes every time. Because clothes soak up the energy.
  • Sit in the same place.
  • Keep watching your breath and emotions.

P.S. You might fall asleep in the starting during meditation. Don’t get disheartened about it.

I hope this article helps you well. If you have any questions you can write in the comment section or email me at [email protected]. Don’t forget to share your experience. It can help others too.

Mind and Love Posted on11:17 pm - July 5, 2019

Great post! Really glad to have found this website. I relate to so much of your content; meditation, mindfulness, wellness, and relationships. I like to go back and forth between meditation with music and mantras. Sometimes the music relaxes me too much and I begin to drift off, but I like what it adds when I’m more alert. Also, I had never considered dance as a premeditation technique; I will have to try it out.
    Thank you for sharing.
